DESCRIPTION

The proposed regulations implementing the SECURE Act RMD rules were released and SECURE 2.0 has been approved by the House and is being considered by the Senate. The speakers will discuss what these changes mean for clients, estate planning attorneys, and plan administrators.

The new proposed regulations mean that every client with a substantial qualified plan or IRA should visit with you and review beneficiary designations and trust provisions in order to optimize postmortem payouts. • New terminology, such as the “applicable multi-beneficiary trust”
  • Drafting for successor or contingent beneficiaries without accelerating distributions
